Tools You May Need
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup avocado oil
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 tsp “21 Seasoning Salute” or your favorite non-salt seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 whole chicken
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a small mixing bowl, mix in avocado oil and all seasonings.

Place the whole chicken into the square glass pan.
Next, take the basting brush and apply the oil mix on the bottom side of the whole chicken.

Once you apply the oil mix on top, cut the skin of the chicken and apply oil mix under the skin.

Next, flip the chicken, breast side up and do the same thing.

After, flip the chicken back, breast side down.

Place the glass pan with the whole chicken into the oven. Cook at 400 degrees for about 1.5 hours. (Rule is approximately 17 min. per pound)
Flip the chicken breast side up about half way through.

At the last 10 minutes of cook time, be sure to monitor the internal temperature carefully. Reduce or add more time as needed.
Cook time will vary based on weight of whole chicken. As soon as internal meat temperature reaches 165 degrees, the chicken is ready to be pulled out of the oven.
If you let it cook too long and it exceeds 165 degrees, the chicken may turn out dry!
